Our Valley Schools
In addition to a wide variety of liberal arts, fine arts, extracurricular and athletic programs, Delta County Schools have effective programs in agriculture, business vocations, technology, Special Education, choir, band and sequential learning at the elementary level in math and reading.
The North Fork Montessori School at Crawford serves preschool through 6th grade using the Montessori curriculum with students completing middle school at either Hotchkiss K-8 or Paonia K-8.
Paonia has an elementary school for grades K-8 located in town.
Paonia is also home to the North Fork School of Integrated Studies which is an arts infused, holistic, integrated education designed to provide academic excellence through experiential learning.
North Fork High School is located in Hotchkiss and students from across the valley attend.
Hotchkiss has an Elementary School and Middle School that share the same campus.
Both Paonia and Hotchkiss have Backpack Early Learning Academy programs (BELA) for preschoolers.
The BELA preschool is a part of the Delta County School District. The purpose of BELA is to provide a safe, stimulating learning environment for pre-kindergarten children to ensure their success with future learning in school and beyond. BELA is Licensed as a Preschool by the State of Colorado through Colorado Department of Human Services – Office of Early Childhood.
The 50J District acts as the umbrella organization for the innovative Vision Charter Academy, the Delta Academy of Applied Learning, Grand Mesa Choice Academy, North Fork Integrated Studies, and the North Fork School of Integrated Studies BELA Preschool.
