KVNF: The little radio station that covers 10,000 square miles of Western Colorado Forty-four years ago, a young, idealist named Campbell Stanton decided to move from Denver, where he’d gone to college, to a mesa above the small town of Paonia, population 1,500. Pretty quickly he figured the town needed a radio station. But to be sure, he and some friends circulated a survey asking whether creating a local radio station was a good idea, and also whether it was even possible.
