 Groups of Tibetan monks travel North America each year to share their culture and increase awareness about Tibet. They’ve been visiting the North Fork Valley for thirty or more years, at the invitation of friends and students here. These monks are exiles from their homeland of Tibet, where the Chinese communists have persecuted the Tibetan people for practicing their traditional Buddhist religion and have forced the great monastic universities into exile in India and beyond.
